Questions for the written testAlmost every day of the EcoTraining course we would be lectured. After the morning drive/walk we would prepare breakfast and after that at around 11:30am a lecture would start. Lectures were given on a variety subjects. Subjects included geology, approaching dangerous game, animal behavior, bird identification, grasses, soils, burning fields, tracks and spoor, habitat management, photography, mechanics of a vehicle, planning drives and walks, dealing with guests, radio procedures, insects, snakes, reptiles and amphibians, frogs, etc. After the 28 days of the course you start to wonder how you could have learned so much in so little time. The sad thing is however that we have only started to scratch the surface.

Written and practical tests

During the course we had to do two written tests, a presentation and two practical tests. The written tests were based on the lectures and on the things that were told on drives and walks. On the right of the screen you can see the test questions of our first written test which we did after two weeks. The information that we had to absorb in those last nine days was, to put it mildly, a lot. The instructors are walking encyclopedias so be sure to take some note books and a lot of pens, you'll need them!
