Kruger National Park - Navigating by GPS
For finding your way in the Kruger National Park you can buy very good maps at the Kruger entrance gates and rest camps. The road signs in Kruger are very good so in combination with a map you won't get lost. This means that you don't need a GPS for navigating through the park.....but that doesn't mean that a GPS isn't a nice gadget to use in the park. Using a GPS you can track the roads where you've driven and you can for instance record the location of sightings. Using Google Earth you can download the tracking and waypoints information from your GPS and display it in Google Earth after your trip.
If you're looking for a GPS map for the Kruger National Park then I*'d recommend buying the map offered by the Tracks4Africa (T4A) community (see main menu item "Navigating through Aftrica"). For the Kruger National Park you need to get the 'RSA Gauteng, North West, Limpopo, Mpumalanga' map. The map is very cheap, at the time of writing this article it was seven US dollars, and it is very accurate.
