Twee Rivieren is the main restcamp of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, and it's also the main entrance to the park. It's a fairly large camp with a shop, restaurant and pool. The shop sells a wide variety of souvenirs and food. The restaurant has a fairly decent menu and prices are also reasonable. Twee Rivieren is the only camp in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park where you can pay using a credit card. All the other camps only accept cash so make sure that you bring enough money to the Kgalagadi to pay for petrol, food and drinks. In the Twee Rivieren shop there is an ATM, but I would bring money to the Kgalagadi rather than betting on the ATM to work because if that ATM doesn't work then the closest ATM to the park is 260km away in Upington!

The downside to this restcamp is that it's too close to civilization for my liking. From your hut you can see the road, the entrance gate and the Botswana border post. I never get 'national park' feeling in Twee Rivieren.  Wildlife viewing around Twee Rivieren is usually pretty good. I've had good sightings on both the Nossob and Aoab road leading North from Twee Rivieren. I've had consistent sightings of lions and brown hyena aroudn Twee Rivieren. I'd recommend using Twee Rivieren at the beginning and end of your trip to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier park.

Facilities

The thing I liked best about Twee Rivieren camp is the pool. There's nothing like a quick dip in the pool when it's 39 degrees centigrade in the shade. Unlike the pools at some of the other camps the pool at Twee Rivieren offers loads of shady areas and it's a joy to relax there in between game drivers during the warm summer days. Twee Rivieren is the only camp in the Kgalagadi that offers cell reception. The petrol station offers both leaded, unleaded and diesel fuel.

360° panoramic cyclomedia images

You can find some 360 degrees panoramic images of Twee Rivieren rest camp here. These panoramic images are a series of 360-degree still images warped in such a way that it allows a viewer to be immersed in it. It gives you the opportunity to virtually step inside Twee Rivieren from anywhere in the world. All images are courtesy of VirtualAfrica and used with permission.
