Namibia Wildlife offers one campsite in the Namib-Naukluft area. This camping site is located within one of the largest nature conservation areas in the world: the Namib Naukluft Park. The camping site can be found at S24.26393 E16.23854 (hddd.ddddd° grid WGS 84 geodetic system). This campsite has seemingly escaped the NWR price increase of November 2007 as it is still pretty affordable. At the time of writing (June 2008) a camping site is N$100 plus N$50 per person per night. I wouldn't recommend this campsite though as the general state of the ablutions and camping sites is poor and the whole place could do with some maintanance or a complete makeover. It is a stunningly beautiful area though which makes up for a lot. If you're a hiker then forget the state of the campsite and consider staying here anyway as there are stunning hiking trails around the camping site.

Hiking trails 

All around the campsite there are beautiful hiking routes which are a must for nature lovers. You can choose from two shorter day hikes, the Olive and Waterkloof trails and a 120km trail which takes eight days. An option to hike the first half only, i.e. four days, has been incorporated. The first four days hiking is moderate whilst the last four days are more difficult. Alternatively, the trail can be completed in seven days by combining the last two days (days seven and eight). This should however, be attempted by extremely fit hikers only. This trail must be booked in advance, contact NWR for more information.

Sossusvlei

The campsite is situated 115 km from the Sossusvlei park entrance so day trips to Sossusvlei are possible from this camping site. Should you only be interested in Sossusvlei then I'd recommend Sesriem campsite though as it is much closer to Sossusvlei. 

Facilities

The Naukluft campsite has communal ablution facilities. Don't expect anything fancy, maintenance doesn't seem to be high on the priority list at Naukluft campsite so warm water is a luxury and the ablutions and showers are of questionable quality.
